Delicious Homemade Quinoa Recipe
This recipe is nutrient dense - packed with protein and flavor. It can be prepared quickly and served as lunch, dinner, or as a side dish.
Instructions
Add 3 cups water + 1 1/2 cups quinoa to a pan. Bring to a boil on high heat. Place the lid on for 10 minutes. This can vary depending on the pan or stove used in the cooking process. So, it may take less or more than 10 minutes. ~ 10 minutes is a rough guideline for how long it often takes. The quinoa and water will no longer appear separate or distinguishable from each other. Place the lid on, adjust the heat to low, and continue cooking for 25 minutes.
Next, turn off the heat and allow quinoa to cool. Finally, fluff quinoa and add seasonings. Prepare the seasoning while the quinoa is cooking for a more efficient process.
Ingredients
1/2 tbsp coconut oil
Himalayan sea salt
3 medium-large garlic cloves minced
1/4 c lemon juice
1 tbsp agave
1 tsp raw turmeric grated
Pinch black pepper
2 tbsp green scallion finely minced
Coconut oil is solid at room temperature, adding it while the quinoa is warm is suggested.
Quinoa expands significantly upon cooking so this can constitute 2-3 meals.
